School cricket system of Sri Lanka is probably the best in the world. In India, being the largest and most powerful cricket playing nation, most of the players comes through professional coaching academies, while in Pakistan, from famous GALI CRICKET. but in Sri Lanka, school cricket is the backbone and almost ninety percent players comes through school cricket. From Mahela Jayawardene, Thilan Samarveera to Kusal mendis, all were the “school prodigy” before stormed their way to international cricket.
Najath Mohamed is another such prodigy, Who is getting nationwide attention, through his sensentional allround performance. A left-handed top order batsman and right arm medium fast bowler, the most fascinating thing about Najath is that he comes from a rather less popular college, in terms of Cricket history. Over the years Trinity, Nalanda, S. Thomas and S. Joseph colleges have produced plethora of world class cricketers for Sri Lanka. But this year, zahira college setting new heights, as right now, Najath is amongst frontrunners to win the most prestigious “schoolboy cricketer of the year award 2017.”
And entire college fraternity and supporters are hopeful, and confident as well, that Najath will bring the glory for them, this year.
