After the humiliating defeat in the first test at pune, Indian captain Virat kohli called the batting display put on by his side as the worst in the past two years by the Indian side. India started the series as favorites, and tourists were expected to be able to secure a draw. But, a riging turner saw India succumb to a 333 run defeat in the first Test. Kohli said he has no excuses for the defeat and accepted it as it came. Chasing the daunting target of over 450, India were bowled out for a paltry 107 in the second innings. The twin batting failure led to India’s downfall in the match.
