Sri Lanka selectors have left out Kusal Mendis from the t20 series against Bangladesh, despite he was the man of the series in ODIs. They have also included all-rounders Thisara Perera and Sehan Jayasuriya into the 16 man squad. As CRICKET AGE confirmed yesterday itself, regular captain Angelo Mathews has still not fully recovered, thus Upul Tharanga will once again lead the team.
Thisara was in destructive batting form against Bangladesh in the ODI series, smashed two rapid half centuries, while Shehan was also in good form during the emerging Asia Cup, being held in Bangladesh. Dashing opener Kusal Perera has also been included, subject to fitness.
Selectors have retained Dilshan Munaveera, Dasun Shanaka, Chamara Kapugedera, Vikum Sanjaya and Milinda Siriwardena, all were the part of a 2-1 win against Australia recently.
