Under the inspirational leadership of ace Indian speed star Zaheer Khan, and Rahul Dravid as the coach, Delhi daredevils are surprising everyone in the ongoing IPL. especially, the youngsters are stepping up big time and showing the enormous bench strength India have blessed with. Few games ago, young Sanju Samson stromed the IPL with his whirlwind century, and now, yesterday, another young star Rishabh Pant made headlines, with his destructive batting.
After winning the toss, DD came into bat and had a splendid start. It was the 17th over of the first innings when Umesh Yadav was deployed by Gautam Gambhir to deliver the over and Rishabh Pant was the batsman who got the strike. The very first ball of the over was an excellent one though, but what happened in the rest of the 5 balls would surely haunt in future. Right from the second ball, Pant turned on the ‘destructive mode’ and sent every delivery outside the fence. After the finish of the over, the figures were—0, 6, 4, 6, 6, 4.
A total of 26 runs coming off the over were enough to ruin economy of Umesh Yadav then. With this phenomenal stint of Rishabh pant, Delhi Daredevils managed to put a competitive score of 168 runs on the board.
Though, daredevils lost the match in the end, but Pant destructive hitting received glowing praise from the cricket world.
