Two times world cup winner legendary Ricky Ponting believes that IPL 2017 could be the last one for former Indian captain MS Dhoni. In an interview given to cricket.com.au, he said, “If you think about Dhoni and his age, this might well be his last IPL. There’s no basis to me saying that. It just seemed like a strange time to move him on as captain if he wasn’t coming towards the end.”
“Honestly, at the age of 35, There’s not much left for him to achieve out of the game. It’s going to come down to how hungry he is and how much he wants it.”
Dhoni, once the undisputed king of Indian Cricket, has been on the centre of criticism in the ongoing IPL, as he has been unable to play match winning innings. Though he showed his spark in few matches, but largely remains inconsistent.
