Sri Lanka dashing batsman Kusal Jenith Perera has been ruled out from the Champions trophy, after suffering from a hamstring injury, during the match against India.
The ICC technical event committee has approved middle order batsman Dhananjaya De’Silva as his replacement.
Perera, naturally an opener, played in Champions trophy as a middle order batsman, and was one of the most successful batsman of the team, having struck two important forty-plus scores against South Africa and India.
Sri Lanka will next play against Pakistan, at Kardif on Monday, a virtual quarter final for them.
