In an unfortunate incident, Young Pakistani batsman Zubair Ahmed died after being hit by a bouncer during a game in Mardan.
According to reports, he was hit in the head on August 14. Ahmed has played four matches for the ListA and T20 team Quetta Bears.
The Pakistan Cricket Board took to their official Twitter handle to reveal the heartbreaking news. In the tweet, the board mentioned that the loss of Zubair Ahmed is an extremely sad one. The committee also reminded everyone that the incident is an example of why safety gears like helmet are a must while playing the game of cricket.
“Tragic death of Zubair Ahmed is another reminder that safety gear i.e. helmet must be worn at all times. Our sympathies with Zubair’s family.” the tweet read.
