Gamini Wickramasinghe, Jerry Wouterz and Asanka Gurusinha are set to be appointed as new selectors of the Sri Lanka team, headed by Graeme Labrooy, Cricket Age can confirm.
“SLC has approved them as National Selectors and the names are pending for the approval of Sports Minister” a top official of the board told Cricket Age.
Gamini Wickramasinghe, a former wicket keeper batsmen, has played 3 test and 4 ODI’s for Sri Lanka. He was the teammates of current batting coach Hasan Tilakratne at Nondescript Cricket Club.
Jerry Wouterz, a former first class cricketer, has served Sri Lanka criccket as a National Team manager, during the India and Pakistan tour of island in 2015.
Asanka Gurusinha, meanwhile, has been associated with a selector cum team manager with the Sri Lanka team since the beginning of the year.
Graeme Labrooy led new selection committee’s first task is to select a 15 members squad for the UAE tour, where the first test against Pakistan will be played at Abu Dhabi from 28th September.
