Amidst the controversy Over the two year suspension of former cricketer Chamara Silva in the Panadura Kalutara controversial match, SLC clarified that the batsman didn’t turn up for evidence, when asked.
“The Inquiry panel says he didn’t even come forward to give evidence and his lawyers never said anything. He should have had representation or come forward” a top official of SLC told Cricket Age.
“The ExCo only passed sentence. Independant panel gave the verdict and Tournament Committee made the recommendation of the sentence” The Official added further.
“Now only option for Chamara Silva is to appeal” Official added further.
SLC Suspended both captains Chamara Silva and Manoj Deshpriya for two years over the breach of the game spirit.
SLC also suspended all other players and coaches for one year from both the teams from all Cricket related activities.
