Pakistan selectors have once again ignored senior batsman Muhammad Hafeez for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in the UAE, starting from 28th September, after he was not part of Pakistan’s T20 squad for the Independence Cup as well.
The selectors and the team management have made it clear that they want to groom youngsters after the recent retirements of batting stalwarts Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq from Test cricket.
The 18 players invited for the camp: Azhar Ali, Shaan Masood, Ahmed Shehzad, Sami Aslam, Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Usman Salahuddin, Sarfraz Ahmed, Muhammad Rizwan, Yasir Shah, Muhammad Asghar, Bilal Asif, Wahab Riaz, Muhammad Aamir, Hassan Ali, Muhammad Abbas and Mir Hamza.
