As the Sri Lanka team is about to depart for UAE tour to play a full series against Pakistan, there are lot of happenings within the SLC as well. Yesterday, there was a secret meeting at CCC and some very interesting facts came out. it was discussed how can Thilanga remain in his position and if not what should be the next course of action, which suggests Dayasiri is trying all within his capacity to keep Sumathipala into SLC.
SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala, Treasurer Shammi Silva, Vice president Mohan De Silva were present at the meeting along with Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara.
It has also learnt that Sumathipala has also told the President of the country that if he moves out of SLC, he wants a cabinet minister position in the government. However with such a luxurious office held by the Ministry of Sports and Sri Lanka Cricket, it is astonishing that this group has met until 1 AM this morning to discuss SLC matters which shows how strongly attached Dayasiri is to Thilanga and Shammi Silva.
