The verified documents, Cricket Age has, Proves that Investigation Committee exempted Chamara Silva, but even after that he had been wrongly framed and slapped two year ban.
In one of the most disgraceful conspiracy in the history of Sri Lanka cricket, Chamara Silva, former international, has been wrongly and deliberately framed in Panadura Kalutara match fiasco, Cricket Age can confirm on the basis of verified documents.
On Friday, Cricket Age has exposed how board Asst. Secretary Ravin Wikramaratne deliberately manipulated the outcome of the inquiry, with the help of tournament Manager Chintaka Jayalath and Legal Officer.
Now, the report of the Tournament Committee, headed by Bandula Disanayake, reveals that initially Chamara Silva had been exempted from the charges, citing the reason that he was not involved in the third day play of that particular match, when those suspicious things happened.
“Mr. Chamara Silva, Captain/Coach of Panadura CC, has been exempted due to his reported absence from the match on the third day” report stated.
Actually, instead of Chamara Silva, The tournament Committee recommended two year ban for Nisal Randika, the acting captain of Panadura for that particular day of play.
“The tournament Committee recommends to suspend Mr. Manoj Deshpriya, captain of Kalatura PCC, and Mr. Nisal Randika, acting captain of Panadura for a period of two years from all Cricket related activities including playing, coaching and administration” the report stated.
But, even after all these recommendations, SLC ExCo slapped two year ban on Chamara Silva, whom even legendary Mahela Jayawardene hailed as the most honest player he ever played with!
Notably, the President of the committee Asela Rekawa also made it clear, while announcing the verdict, that it was ExCo who decided about the punishment, not the committee.
“The investigation committee did not decide on the punishment. We only produced the investigation report to the ExCo of SLC” he said.
On Friday, Cricket Age revealed how K. Mathivanan, vice president of Board and incharge of domestic cricket in Sri Lanka, is equally responsible for the Ravin Wickramaratne wrongdoings in manipulating the outcome of the inquiry.
Now, after the fresh shocking revelation Cricket Age of Chamara Silva being wrongly and deliberately framed of charges, the whole chapter has become rather too much suspicious!
Now first and foremost, K. Mathivanan, being the incharge of Sri Lanka domestic cricket, needs to answer these most disturbing questions :
Who conspired against Chamara Silva?
Who reversed the recommendations of tournament committee?
What was the logic to appoint a investigation Committee, if the verdict had to come on this way?
