In recent times, competition in Team India has become that much stuff, that there are three to four players in the race for each position in the playing XI. In recent years, Indian team has pleasantly blessed with the more than one dozen if talented youngsters, who grabbed the opportunities with both hands, as soon as they got a place in the team. As a result of the stiff competition, Now Greats like Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh are also finding it rather difficult to find a place in the team.
Now, it seems that the shorter formats career of Team India’s two best spinners in test team, R. Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are over!
Former India opener Virender Sehwag believes the same that India’s new spin twins Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have made the cricketing fans forget about India’s star bowlers Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
He further added that the presence of Kuldeep and Chahal very well fill the vacant space of Ashwin and Jadeja as they are performing brilliantly.
“It is a nice thing that we do not feel the pinch of not having two experienced spinners on our side, because our newcomers are performing very well,” Sehwag told.
The former explosive batsman also praised Yuzvendra Chahal, pointing out that he is often the go-to-man for India skipper Virat Kohli.
“Chahal has the advantage of bowling on wickets like Bengaluru during the IPL matches. Chahal plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore, which is captained by Virat Kohli,” he said.
“So whenever there is a crisis, Kohli hands over the ball to Chahal” he added.
