Sri Lanka allrounder Angelo Mathews has been ruled out of five match ODI series against Pakistan as well, after being missed tests.
Mathews played in all three formats against India, but sustained a calf injury just before the announcement of the Test squad for UAE tour. It was earlier reported that he would have sufficiently recovered from the injury to join the team in Dubai.
This will further weakend a young and rather inexperienced ODI team against Pakistan, the winner of recently concluded Champions trophy.
Since last one year, Mathews has consistently battling with various injuries. Last October, leg injury had kept him out of the Zimbabwe tour. He was also out of the home test series against Bangladesh, due to hamstring tear.
Five match ODI series will start on 13th October.
