South Africa run machine Hashim Amla has broken another record of team India captain Virat Kohli, as he became the fastest batsman to score 26 ODI hundreds.
Earlier, he had broken Kohli record to become fastest batsman to reach 7K mark. The Proteas opener took just 150 innings compared to Kohli’s 169. Amla also holds the record for the fastest to reach 6000, 5000, 4000, 3000 and 2000 runs, having got to the landmarks in 123, 101, 81, 57 and 40 innings respectively.
Now, to get 26 tons in ODIs, he took 154 innings to go past Virat Kohli and reach this feat. The Indian skipper took 166 innings to reach his 26th ODI hundred. Amala remained unbeaten at 110 which he scored off 112 deliveries.
With Amla and Quinton De Cock made whirlwind unbeaten centuries, as South Africa frayed Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the first ODI of the three match series.
