Facing the danger of losing tenth consecutive ODI match, worst in their history, Sri Lanka made another below par score of 208 in the third match against Pakistan at Abu Dhabi today. Even though, for a change team got of to a promising start, as Openers Upul Tharanga and Niroshan Dickwela put together 59 runs in 10.5 overs with an impressive run rate of over 5.5 during the partnership. But, as the innings progressed, some too much negative batting by Dinesh Chandimal and Lahiru Thirimane killed all the momentum.
No surprise, die hard cricket fans turned frustrated and angry after seeing another pathetic batting display. Sri Lanka haven’t crossed 250 mark in last seven matches, and fans have started to panicking now. After yet another batting debacle, fans were particularly angry with Dinesh Chandimal, who came to bat at number three and played a painful innings of 19 runs in 49 balls.
“If you selected Chandimal for ODI team, then you are unsuited for the job of selector” wrote a furious fan.
