Not only Sri Lanka lost the match and series against Pakistan at Abu Dhabi yesterday in the third ODI, but one of their star player Chamara Kapugedera also badly injured.
Kapugedera was walking towards the crease and had no idea that his team’s wicket-keeper, Niroshan Dickwella lobbed the ball towards him. By the time Kapugedera noticed the ball, it had already hit him in his face. While he prevented his eyes from any injury, the dreadful sight of his massively swollen face was horrific. He received medical attention quickly and was rushed off the field.
