Sri Lanka fast bowler Dhammika Prasad is set to return for India series after he fully recovered from his injury, Cricket Age has learnt.
Dhammika returned to competitive cricket yesterday in domestic mercantile tournament and picked one wicket in 8 overs.
“Dhammika has fully recovered from shoulder injury, and most probably will feature in test series against Sri Lanka” a source at SLC told Cricket Age.
The 34-year old fast bowler has played 25 tests for Sri Lanka and has 75 test wickets to his name. He had emerged as the bowling spearhead of Sri Lanka in tests, before sustaining injury during the test series against West Indies in 2015.
Former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews also welcomed Dhammika on his return.
“Good to see u back in action @imDhammika #stayblessed” he wrote on his twitter handle.
Dhammika was the chief architect in Sri Lanka’s one of the greatest test triumph, when team whitewashed England on their home soil in 2014, under the captaincy of Mathews.
