SLC has sent a security team of personal, who are currently in Lahore. Out of the two, one person is an Ex-Co member who is an Air force officer and other is a police officer, who was personally selected by Thilanga to evaluate and recommend to SLC of the security situation.
But the biggest joke is that first T20 game being played today and the players who have refused to tour has already being punished for not agreeing to tour, as all those players have already returned to Sri Lanka.
Interestingly, SLC is yet to take a decision based on the recommendations from so called top level security personnel who are still in Lahore. Questions raised, what is the logic to send security experts at the last minute. Now, imagine if they won’t clear security concerns! Then, what will happen? Will Sri Lanka cancel the third t20 scheduled to be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on 29th October? In reality, this act should have been done by SLC at least a month ago.
The much awaited match will see the return of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, eight years after their team bus was ambushed by gunmen on the way to the ground in Lahore on March 3, 2009.
The attacks, which killed eight people and left seven Sri Lankan players and a staff member injured, resulted in the suspension of all international cricket in Pakistan, forcing them to play home matches in the United Arab Emirates.
