As the historic T20 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore is attracting Cricket lovers all over the world, Former ICC President and one of the great player of his era Zaheer Abbas lauded the Sri Lanka’s efforts for making the match possible and revive the international Cricket in Pakistan.
“SLC’s role will always be remembered in Pakistan cricket history,” Abbas said.
“It’s great support from Sri Lanka and It would eventually help the hosts in the resumption of all forms of cricket, as the country is yet to host since 2009” further said Abbas, who played 78 tests for Pakistan.
Since 2009, when terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan team bus at Liberty Chowk in Lahore, it’s the first time that Sri Lanka team has arrived in Pakistan led by Thisara Perera, who was also the part of ICC-led World XI in September, this year.
Sri Lanka side arrived in Lahore during the midnight of October 28 which further saw presidential-level security flanked the players at the Allama Iqbal Aiport.
