Sri Lanka use 14 bowlers on day two as practice match ended in a draw

After gaining useful batting practice on day one, Sri Lanka team made fun on the second day as well, as team opted for 14 bowlers to bowl against President XI, before match ended in a draw at the Jadavpur University second campus ground in Saltlake on Sunday.

Board President XI made 287/5 in 75 overs, before both the captain agreed for no further play. Captain Sanju Samson was the standout performer from the President XI, as he stroked a fluent 128 runs with a strike rate of 89, including 19 fours and one six.

However, it was the bowling strategy of Sri Lanka that caught everyone attention. Except for wicket keeper Niroshan Dickwela, all other 14 members of the squad got an opportunity to bowl, including Captain Dinesh Chandimal. More importantly for Sri Lanka, even Angelo Mathews bowled few overs of his medium pace and looked in a good bowling reythem as well, after making a solid half century on the first day.

Moreover, out of five wickets that Board President XI lost, four wickets fell to part-timers as Lahiru Thirimanne took two, while Dhananjaya De Silva and Sadeera Samarawickrama scalped one wicket each.
