Dayasiri Jayasekara, the Sports Minister of Sri Lanka, has called SLC CEO Ashley De Silva, ODI Captain Thisara Perera and selectors for a selection meeting on Tuesday, Cricket Age learns.
According to sources, Dayasiri was not happy with the madness SLC did yesterday night, when nine players had to return from the airport just before their departure to India.
According to reliable sources, on yesterday around 8.30, Ashley sent the 10 players of ODI team to Airport.
However, Sports Minister Dayasiri jayasekara had got the squad at 5.15 PM yesterday, so logically he said that he needs to meet selectors and captain to discuss before approving.
However Ashley didn’t take anyone’s order, and did what he wanted to do. Though, Because of the arrogance and unaccountability of Ashley, Sri Lanka players suffered this sort of bizzare things, even before departure for India. Eventually, all the ten players returned to their homes, by midnight!
Clearly, this will be remembered as one of the biggest blunder of Sri Lanka cricket history, and Ashley De Silva has proved once again that he doesn’t deserves to be SLC CEO.
