Sri Lanka Cricket Board CEO Ashley De Silva has become notorious for his incompetence in recent times. The dominating nature of him has been sinking SLC like a Titanic!
In the latest episode of his dictatorship, Ashley De Silva, on yesterday, commited one of the biggest blunder of Sri Lanka cricket history, Cricket Age learns..
According to reliable sources, on yesterday around 8.30, Ashley sent the 10 players of ODI team to Airport.
However, Sports Minister Dayasiri jayasekara had got the squad after 5 PM yesterday, (although Selections were done on last Thursday) so logically he can’t approve without discussing with team Captain and Sports Ministry medical staff for fitness pass.
So, there was no logic and no rush to send the team to the airport for the departure to India, without the approval of Sports Minister.
However, Ashley did the same!
In a more shocking turn, SLC President Sumathipala too did not know the team was departing yesterday night!
By the time SLC found that team has already departed, and had to come back from the airport!
Because of the arrogance and unaccountability of Ashley, Sri Lanka team suffered this things, even before departure for India. Eventually, all the ten players returned to their homes, past midnight!
Clearly, this will be remembered as one of the biggest blunder of Sri Lanka cricket history, and Ashley De Silva has proved once again that he doesn’t deserves to be SLC CEO.
He has become the arbitrary authority of SLC, who thinks he’s above ExCo, President and even Sports Minister.
