Ashley De Silva, the controversial CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has been trying his best to destroy the image of not his own board only, but to Country’s future Cricketers as well.
In last one month itself, Ashley has become the most notorious Official of SLC. when entire Sri Lanka was welcoming Thisara Perera as New shorter formats Captain, he said that SLC would like to appoint captain series by series. Then, he forced nine National Cricketers to leave the country for the ODI Series against India, even without the approval of Sports Minister.
Now, in another never ending list of Ashley Wrongdoings, he outstaged a talented young player from a particular team, in order to fit his favorite.
A team named Western Province, which won the provincial tournament of 2017, Will play a T20 League in UAE, starting from December 14. Dinesh Chandimal, Sri Lanka test captain, to lead the team, as he was the captain of Winning Provincial side.
However, Ashley deliberately discarded one particular player from the squad, who was the part of Western Province, during the team’s winning campaign. He even played in the semi-final and final.
However, Ashley included one of his favorite player for the T10 League, replacing that plyer.
The most bizarre thing is that favourite player of Ashley also played in the provincial tournament, but for Kandy.
When inquired, Cricket Age learnt that Sri Lanka’s National Selectors have nothing to do with the Squad, as The provincial tournament winning team automatically got the chance to play in the league.
It proves Ashley breached the rule, by discarding a player who was originally in the squad.
