Sri Lanka re-appointed captain Angelo Mathews picked a hamstring injury again, more importantly just before their second match of the ongoing tri series against Bangladesh.
Mathews has been once again appointed as the captain for the shorter formats, only after six months when he had been removed from the post.
During Sri Lanka first match, against Zimbabwe, he didn’t bowl. However, while batting he struggled many times to run properly and team physio had to come into the ground.
It is still unclear, however, whether he will be able to play against Bangladesh tomorrow or not.
According to team management, Mathews is currently being treated for a right hamstring tightness. He is being monitored and a decision on his participation in the next game will be taken by tomorrow.
