Sri Lanka Cricket has become a place to enjoy the perks, and power too. Especially in the Sumathipala era, Some of the Officials are reaping through benefits big time.
Cricket Age has done an investigative story on how some of the close associates of Sumathipala are getting handsome salary package from the SLC, even though some of are working for his personal political campaign.
Nilushi shiranthika : She is the Media cordinator of both SLC and Sumathipala. However, she is being paid by SLC, a salary of 80,000/- as the media co-ordinator.
Chrisantha de Silva : aged more than 70, a close associate of Sumathipala, was given a consultant job 1,50,000/- a month with a transport, a rented vehicle with a driver, As consultant administration at SLC. In reality he is doing nothing for the board, even not coming to work for about month now because of illness. But still use the vehicle and getting the allownce.
Ravin Wickramratne : the powerful ExCo member, he is also using two vehicle of SLC, one for his family use. even his personal driver who does his family work paid by SLC and wears SLC uniform. Also works at Mobitel, though is at SLC all day using SLC resources and staff.
Chrysantha Kapuwatte : Sumathipala most recent associate, uses SLC for personal business, syphoning SLC funds through the newly formed North Western Province Cricket Association that does not function.
Asanka Yatawara : She is Sumathipala’s confidential secretary, works from his personal office doing all personal work but paid from SLC and even gets transport. At SLC, Working till 2 only and Not marking attendance. Paid 80,000/- for half days work.
Kamal Datmasiri : known as Sumathipala most trusted inside man, draws large pay pack of over 50,0000/- per month as the Head of Sumathipala’s own Committee the NDC, but has not implemented a single project over past 2 years. Only travels all over to collect allowance.
