Sri Lanka has became the first team in the history to lose 50 T20I games. Interestingly, both Lanka and Bangladesh had entered the match with 49 losses each and it was a matter of time that who reached the unwanted milestone first.

the home side propelled to a huge total of 214 for 6 which was overhauled by Bangladesh. The visitors reached the target in 19.4 overs with five wickets in hand as they recorded the fourth highest total to be chased down in T20I cricket.
With the unexpected defeat, In the T20Is, Sri Lanka now holds the top spot for most number of losses in T20Is at 50. The second position, however, have joint leaders which include Bangladesh and New Zealand both at 49. Followed by England which has 48 defeats to its name. India has only 35 losses against it.
