In one of the most disgusting turn of events, Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) Assistant Secretary Ravin Wickramaratne cheated his own board, by claiming daily allowances for an ICC Meeting where he didn’t go at all, Cricket Age reliably learns.
ICC annual meeting held at Kolkata, India from 21st to 25th April. When Cricket Age inquired from SLC about Ravin Wickramaratne participation in the meeting, it learnt that he took allowance and air tickets from the board.
However, when Cricket Age inquired with ICC Itself, it revealed that Ravin Didn’t attend any of the meeting in Kolkata.
“ICC Wish to make it clear that Mr. Ravin Wickramaratne did not attend any of the ICC meetings in Kolkata. SLC were represented by Mr. Ashley De Silva and Mr. Sumathipala” the ICC Gave a reply to Cricket Age.
Cricket Age asked Ravin Wickramaratne for the clarification on the matter, but he declined to comment.
This clearly proves Ravin Wickramaratne kept even SLC in dark, took allowances and all, but skipped the ICC meeting.
However, this is not the first time, when this kind of wrongdoings being exposed of Ravin Wickramaratne. On May 09, Cricket Age published how Ravin Wickramaratne reaping through benefits and manipulating things at SLC. Cricket Age exposed him through a series of news how he manipulated in order to send his friends for UAE tour, how he abused SLC sponsor’s during Nidahas trophy, how he escaped any action from the board, even after Sports Ministry has declared him as the main culprit of domestic match fixing scandal.
Recently, former Sri Lanka player Chamara Silva has also submitted an affidavit to SLC, in which he has claimed that Ravin Wickramaratne was the mastermind of the fixing, that took place during a domestic match between Panadura and Kalutara in January 2017.
