Shane Warne Confirms Move To Fox Sports

Legendary Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne has confirmed he has signed with Foxtel to be part of the Fox Sports cricket commentary team for the next six years. Warne joins an already strong line-up of on-air talent signed by Fox, including former teammates Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh, Allan Border, Brendon Julian and Mike Hussey along with Mel Jones, Isa Guha and Michael Vaughan.

“It’s important we make Australians love and trust the game again,” Warne told Fox Sports. “When people turn on the cricket the fans want to be proud of the team.

“The team (Fox) have put together is fantastic. Where Australian cricket is at the moment, I think it’s important the fans get what they deserve.”

Warne had worked with the Nine Network for more than two decades, but Nine’s exit from broadcasting cricket during the Australian summer meant the 48-year-old was in demand from cricket’s new broadcast partners, Fox and Seven.
