K. Mathivanan, the Controversial Vice President Of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) Who pretends to be a close aide of President Thilanga Sumathipala, had voiced serious concerns against him in March 2017, Cricket Age reliably learns.
Mathivanan, Who had been overseeing Domestic Cricket at that time, had sent a letter to Sumathipala on March 20th, also signed by Jayantha Dharmadasa, Who was the Vice president International Cricket at that time.
In the letter, Both Dharmadasa and Mathivanan raised their concern over the dictatorship of Sumathipala, many wrongdoings of ExCo members and falsely tender procedures.
In the letter, they raised serious questions over awarding and Irregular tender to an unregistered supplier, related to Australia tour of Sri Lanka in July 2016. The letter mentions that This was a serious case of breaching the policies and thus the Aggrieved party eventually lodged a complaint at the Prime Minister Office.
The letter stated that After the Aggrieved party lodged the complaint, The PM office directed SLC for an inquiry.
In addition, there were also questions regarding the sole decision taking habit of Sumathipala. In letter, Dharmadasa and Mathivanan stated that The appointment of Asanka Gurusinha as Sri Lanka team manager was taken by Sumathipala without consulting anyone. In the letter, Dharmadasa alleged that Sumathipala told him to talk with Bandula Warnapura for the post. However, later, Sumathipala appointed Gurusinha without consulting him.
In the letter, there were also concern over the appointment of Hashan Tillakaratne, Upul Chandana and Ranjith Fernando.
Interestingly, later, Dharmadasa, after many failed attempts to convince Sumathipala to take stern action against many wrongdoings of office bearers, resigned from his post.
However, Mathivanan decided to continue with the Sumathipala, even after having all the differences and eventually grabbed the Post of Vice president of international cricket as well, after completely ruining international cricket.
Moreover, Mathivanan, Who was against Sumathipala in 2017, has now submitted his nomination for the vice president post for the election again, to be held on May 31st.
