Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) is all set to witness a major overhaul, as Incumbent President Thilanga Sumathipala is going to resign, Cricket Age reliably learns. In another twist, Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha has decided to appoint a ministerial secretary to run the SLC.
” Mr. Mustapha is going to appoint the Ministry Secretary as the Competant Authority and get the board to function under him.
Pillar heads (the office bearers) to remain but Mr. Sumathipala will step down” A top official of Sports Ministry told Cricket Age.
In the morning, Sumathipala went to Sports ministry with all his office bearers. Yesterday, SLC written a letter to Sports Minister, asking for the stay for the 12 weeks.
