Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has mysteriously stopped dealing with Country’s President Maithripala Sirisena’s Daughter Advertising Company After Faizer Mustapha took over the Cricket Board Under his supervision, Cricket Age reliably learns.
Chaturika Sirisena, the daughter of Country’s President, is the owner of Media Gang, which has been rated as one of the top most advertising company of Sri Lanka. According to sources, Media Gang had been handling all the events, PR Things of the SLC since last two years, as soon as Thilanga Sumathipala took over as president back then. Sumathipala’s most ambitious campaign ‘One Team, One Nation’ was also conceptualized by Media Gang. According to sources at SLC, Media Gang delivered it’s best performance every time they took over board assignments.
However, after Faizer Mustapha took over the SLC under his control as Sumathipala departed due to failing to hold the election on time, the board has stopped dealing with Media Gang. Instead, now SLC has associated with Tri Add for its PR things.
Those, who keeps a close eye on SLC, are saying some interesting stuff about this new association of SLC. According to sources, Tri Add is the company of Dilith Jayaweera, Who is the owner of Derena News Channel. The interesting thing is that Derena aggressively campaigned for country’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickramsinghe during the local elections in February. Also, he has been considered a very close associate of Sri Lanka’s political heavyweight Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
It is also noteworthy that the moment Sumathipala Voted against Prime Minister during ‘No Confidence Motion’ saga, his political career was immediately halted. Later, he resigned as Deputy Speaker of the parliament and now is in wilderness, as for as his politics is concerned.
There are reports in Sri Lanka media that Sumathipala is seriously considering to join country’s former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s party. In the next general election, his younger brother Gotabaya Rajapaksa is most likely to lead the party.
In this scenario, SLC association with Tri Add, Whose owner is a close associate of Gotabaya, raises serious questions against SLC. The most important question is : Is Sumathipala still running the show at SLC?
Sumathipala’s Political Dreams :
Thilanga Sumathipala, the self-proclaimed Messiah of Sri Lanka Cricket, has a political dream to become the Prime Minister of the country one day! To fulfill his dream, he crossed over almost every single political party of the Island. A decade ago, he was a close associate of Country’s current Prime Minister Ranil Wickramsinghe.
At that time, Ranil gave him the role of electoral Organizer of Anuradhapura. At that time, he hailed Ranil as the best politician for Sri Lanka. Later, though, he moved to another political heavyweight Mahinda Rajapaksa.
In last election, Sumathipala spent millions on Mahinda’s campaign. However, when Mahinda lost the election and Ranil didn’t accept him, he jumped to President Sirisena Camp. Now, as he has no role to play at Sirisena party, he is seriously mulling over joining Rajapaksa’s again. Apart from dreaming of becoming country’s Prime Minister, Sumathipala also dreams to be the ICC President. And, his close associates like Sajeewa Godaliyadda, Shammi Silva, Godfrey Dabrera, Ravin Wickramaratne, Priyantha Soyza, Bandula Saman Wathugama and Janaka Pathirana keeps motivated him seeing the dream! Incidently, these are the people’s, who were running the SLC since last two years, as a family business!
