England’s comprehensive show against India in the second ODI at Lord’s overshadowed MS Dhoni’s talismanic feat in ODIs of completing 10,000 runs in the format. Eoin Morgan and co staged a brilliant comeback in the 2nd ODI of the three-match series to keep the rubber alive and proved why India should not take the Three Lions lightly, especially in their own backyard. India’s schooling roped in several judgements and joining the bandwagon was Gautam Gambhir.
While pundits were busy scrutinising India’s dismal chase, here’s what Gambhir had on his mind, “MS Dhoni looks 5-10 years older than he is at the moment and I think someone needs to tell him that he is looking far more older than he is. I think he is pretty much very fit, on the ground he is quick, he is as fit as any other youngster.”
On Match front, a comprehensive batting and bowling show by England schooled Virat Kohli and Co at Lord’s on Saturday in the second ODI. While Joe Root battered India’s pace barrage, it was Liam Plunkett who restricted Men in Blue’s chase as the visitors fell 87 runs short of 323. England will take on India in the series decider at Headingley, Leeds on Tuesday.
