Former Sri Lanka player Saman Jayantha has found himself in a conflict of interest crosshairs, as he currently is shouldering dual coaching responsibility in domestic cricket circuit.
According to sources, Jayantha was associated with central province until April this year. Later, he was transferred in north province as head coach. However, at the same time, he joined Army SC as coach.
“As he lives in Ambalangoda, Army SC Brigadier is providing him salary in a different way by look after his transportation” a source at Army SC told Cricket Age.
The interesting thing is that Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) is also completely unaware of him shouldering dual coaching responsibility. Few days ago, SLC CEO Ashley De Silva and High Performance Manager Asanka Gurusinha distributed tablets to provincial coaches, and Saman Jayantha was amongst them.
A right-hand opening batsman, Jayantha played 17 ODIs for Sri Lanka, all in 2004.
