Chandimal Will Captain Sri Lanka Until World Cup : Graeme Labrooy

Sri Lanka’s chief selector Graeme Labrooy told on Wednesday that newly appointed Captain Dinesh Chandimal will lead the side until the 2019 world cup. During a press conference, where Sri Lanka announced 15-men squad for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa, Labrooy also stated that former shorter formats captain Angelo Mathews is still in their world Cup plans.

In another notable change, allrounder Thisara Perera has been named the vice captain of the ODI team until the next World Cup.

For England series, selectors have dropped out of form Kusal Mendis from the ODI squad for England series, while Sadeera Samarwikrama has made a comeback after strong performances in domestic cricket.

Sehan Jayasuriya, Dilruwan Perera, Suranga Lakmal have also been dropped from the squad that played in the Asia Cup.

England to play five ODIs, one off T20 and three tests during their tour of Sri Lanka. First ODI to be played Dambula on October 10.
