Aruna De Silva, the head of administration at Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has received the first luxury vehicle on Thursday, Cricket Age reliably learns.
Few days ago, Cricket Age had published the news that SLC has ordered five luxury vehicles (each worth 12 million rupees) for the top officials, including CEO Ashley De Silva and COO Jerome Jayarathne.
Aruna De Silva was always expected to take the first vehicle, as he has been considered as the closest associate of former SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala. Few months ago, there was a so called inquiry against Aruna De Silva, for spending 5 million rupees for just one night stay at a five star hotel in Colombo. However, as it has become a norm with SLC, like all other inquiries, this inquiry was also swept under the carpet.
It is noteworthy that SLC has not given a single increment to minor staff since 2015. Though, few months ago, Ashley and Jerome had received hefty increments as gifts for their loyalty to Sumathipala led administration.
