The claim of the selectors having a clear communication with a dropped player has again been turned down as Murali Vijay, who was snubbed for a spot in the Indian team for the last two Tests against England, has said that he hasn’t had a communication with the chief selector or any other person. The right-handed batsman, though, admitted that he had a conversation with the members of the team management in England.
“Nothing at all. Neither the chief selector nor any other person spoke to me in England after I was dropped from the third Test. None of them have spoken to me since. I did have a conversation with the members of the team management in England and that’s it,” he was quoted as saying by The Mumbai Mirror.
Further, Vijay said that he agrees with Harbhajan Singh, who had said that he doesn’t know parameters used by selectors to drop a player. “I tend to agree with what Harbhajan Singh has said (on Tuesday) about parameters of selection. I think it is important that a player is told about the reasons for keeping him out so that he knows where exactly he stands in the team management and selectors’ scheme of things,” Vijay added.
Presently, the Tamil Nadu-batsman is playing Vijay Hazare Trophy for his state and scored 3 runs in the contest against Tripura on Wednesday.
