Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, shone for Mumbai during the third day’s play of the Cooch Behar Trophy tie against Delhi with a fifer against the home team at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi. The left-arm pacer forced a comeback for Mumbai and they are now in a situation of taking the first innings lead as well.
After Sangwan’s dismissal, Priyansh Arya steered the score ahead and put up 188 runs for the second stand. Delhi were looking favourite to gain the first innings lead but Arjun stole the thunder on day three. He first picked up skipper Ayush Badoni’s wicket and followed up with three wickets of Vaibhav Kandapal, Gulzar Singh Sandhu and Hrithik Shokken, cutting short Delhi’s score from 274/3 to 300/6.
He added another wicket of Prashant Kumar Bhati in his account, forcing a comeback for Mumbai. The match is in an interesting situation as Delhi are 59 runs away from visitor’s score of 453 while one wicket will do it for Mumbai.
Delhi’s Tanwar (51* off 148) and Anirudh Chowdhary (8* off 91) survived wickets less 30.2 overs in the later part of the day to keep the team’s hopes alive.
