Indian stalwart Yuvraj Singh was bought in the second round of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 auctions by Mumbai Indians after going unsold in the first round. Mumbai roped in the star all-rounder at his base price of Rs 1 crore and became the fifth team to buy him in the history of the competition.
Yuvraj was one of the big names in the Rs 1 crore pool of players. After not finding a bidder in the first round, it appeared as the southpaw might go unsold in the 2019 Player auction but Mumbai were quick to react when his name was called in the second round. They opened the bidding at Rs 1 crore and got their man without facing any competition from other franchises.
Soon after being bought by the Rohit Sharma-led side, Yuvraj took to Twitter to react on Mumbai Indians securing his services for IPL 2019. He expressed his excitement and wrote, “I am glad to be part of the @mipaltan family, looking forward for the season to begin. See u soon @ImRo45.”
Yuvraj was a part of the Kings XI Punjab squad last season and had a woeful season with the bat post which he was released by his home franchise ahead of the auctions.
