It was all good for the Indian team in Australia which had just won its maiden Test series Down Under. Hardik Pandya was leading the celebrations with his dance moves but soon, it came to an abrupt end when he created a storm on talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’, that was aired on Sunday. Soon, Pandya and KL Rahul were under the dock for their comments on the show and also invited flak on social media.
This also forced The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) take note of the situation and the players now stare at a two-match ban from the board. While the board is yet to come up with the punishment for the duo, Pandya has taken corrective measures on his part.
As per a report inĀ The Mumbai Mirror, the 25-year-old all-rounder apologised to former Indian captain MS Dhoni and head coach Ravi Shastri for his actions on the show. The report also adds that he spoke to his brother Krunal and his family members. Krunal will be joining Indian team next month when India play New Zealand in a three-match T20I series.
Both Pandya and Rahul, especially the former, were criticised for their choice of words on the show. Hardik talked about women and his comments were deemed to be sexist.
