The Koffee with Karan controversy has made a big impact on Hardik Pandya’s image and career. After a suspension by the BCCI, Pandya has now started losing his sponsors because of his comments on the show. One of Hardik’s biggest sponsors, shaving blade brand Gillette has now suspended its association with the Indian all-rounder.
“Hardik Pandya’s recent comments do not reflect the values of Gillette. We have suspended our association with Hardik until we decide on further course of action,” Times of India quoted a Gillette India spokesperson as saying.
Gillette had announced Hardik as its brand ambassador for their new product MACH 3 Start last year.
Pandya and KL Rahul have been sent back home from the Australian limited-overs series due to disciplinary reasons. The Committee of Administrators (CoA) sent fresh show-cause notices (separately) to the players and informed them about their suspension while banning them from participating in any BCCI, ICC and/or state association tournament/event until the final adjudication of the matter. They are likely to miss out on the New Zealand tour as well while their participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is also in doubt.
