Harin Fernando, Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister, on Wednesday met national cricketers Lasith Malinga and Angelo Mathews in order to solve the ongoing crisis within the team.
On January 26, Sri Lanka’s allrounder Thisara Perera wrote a letter to SLC CEO Ashley De Silva, asking him to intervene and stop national team’s shorter formats captain Lasith Malinga’s wife from maligning his image. In the letter, Thisara also mentioned that the team is badly divided at the moment and there is no unity amongs the players at all.
Harin Will travel to Australia and will address the team during the second test against at Canberra, to be played from February 1.
Sri Lanka lost the first test at Brisbane by an innings and 40 runs.
