Banned Indian pacer S Sreesanth has predicted that rising Indian youngster Prithvi Shaw can come close to the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and run machine Virat Kohli if he can consistently perform at the highest level.
Shaw rose to fame with his exploits in the Mumbai local circuit before making the cut in the India U-19 squad. He led the U-19 team to a triumph at the World Cup in 2018 and was a stand out performer with the bat for the Boys in Blue.
On Wednesday, the 19-year-old right-hander posted an inspiring tweet referring to a new Bollywood song and claimed that he will be soon back on the pitch and scoring runs again. Sreesanth replied on the youngster’s tweet with a heartfelt message and assured him that he can be the next big thing in Indian cricket.
“For sure brother..keep working hard and never ever give up..i am sure if anyone can come close to Sachin bhai and Virat it’s you..keep at it#apnatimeayega,” Sreesanth replied on Shaw’s tweet.
After his stellar Test debut against Windies, Shaw was included in the Test squad to face Australia in the 4-match series, which India comfortably won 2-1 to script history Down Under. However, Shaw missed out due to an injury and is currently recovering from the same, looking at the upcoming IPL to make his comeback.
