It seems like the trouble over Koffee with Karan is not going to get over any time soon for Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. After they were relieved of the suspension from the BCCI over their comments on the show. Pandya and Rahul faced a lot of backlash on social media for the comments made by them on the chat show, which is famous for sparking controversy. Following the backlash, BCCI had suspended the duo.
However, their suspensions were lifted on January 24 pending appointment of an ombudsman.
Now a case has been registered against Pandya, Rahul and Karan Johar in Jodhpur, reported news agency ANI.
the case has been registered in Jodhpur for comments made during Koffee with Karan in December last year. In December last year, cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul had appeared on Koffee with Karan Season 6 and were highly criticized for their comments on the show. The extent of the backlash has been such that even the broadcaster Star TV, has removed the episode from its online streaming platform, Hotstar.
The remarks were construed as ‘misogynistic’ and ‘racist’. Immediately, Pandya issued an apology on social media and then the two cricketers offered an official statement to the board. Recently, Johar opened up on the controversy saying the issue has reached a stage where damage control isn’t possible.
