In one of the most unfortunate incident in Sri Lanka cricket history, controversial Shammi Silva was elected as the New board President on Thursday. Not only Shammi, all old familiar faces who put Sri Lanka Cricket on ventilator in their last tenure, returned to dismantle the game again. Thilanga Sumathipala, who can’t contest the SLC election ever again, became the kingmaker, slapped on the face of ICC, and now is set to ruin the cricket again through his clone Shammi Silva.
Not surprisingly, Sri Lanka Cricket fans entirely rejected Shammi Silva and his gang. “RIP Sri Lanka Cricket” was the common reaction on the outcome of the election.
