Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant reveals his thought process during blistering knock

Written by Rohit Pawar

Rishabh Pant has started the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 with a bang following his blistering knock of 78 not-out of 27 balls as Delhi Capitals begun their IPL  2019 campaign on a winning note. The revamped Delhi outfit defeated Mumbai Indians by 37 runs. Pant hammered seven boundaries and as many sixes as he piled misery on the Mumbai Indians bowlers on a flat Wankhede surface. After his blitzkrieg in Mumbai, Pant said he is trying to learn every day in his cricketing career and it is always a great feeling when you score runs while helping the team to cross the winning line.

“It’s been a great journey, trying to learn every day in my cricketing career. Always a great feeling when you score runs and the team wins. I always bat according to the situation all the time. Today when I came in, I had to up the ante and so took my chances. It came off tonight. (On his unorthodox methods) Especially in T20, you have to do something different. Sometimes when bowlers cramp you for the room, you got to make your own room. (Whether he is ok with batting at 5) Well, (pauses), glad to bat anywhere the team wants me to,” said Pant in the post-match presentation.
