The Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has approved the hiring of two new media coordinators from the next month for the media unit, Cricket Age reliably learns.
After taking over the SLC in March, president Shammi Silva led administration tried to hoodwink cricket fans by showing that they are determined to cut the cost of the board by removing unnecessarily staff. However, now it has appeared that by removing anti Thilanga Sumathipala employees, SLC is bringing more and more people’s, who are loyal to Punchi Borella.
Few weeks ago, SLC mysteriously removed logistic media manager Dinesh Ratnasigham for no proper reason. Now, the board has approved two media people’s – Chamila Karawita (Lake House) and Sampath Dayawansa – as coordinators of the media unit. Notably, Dayawansa was just recently associated with Punchi Borella and was running a PR agency.
According to sources both the person’s will be hired with newly created post digital web coordinators and their salary will be approximately 1.15 Lakh including allowance.
So for now, SLC has decided to expend staff by creating new unnecessary posts, just to fill the board with more Sumathipala loyalists.
