Sri Lanka opener Avishka Fernando’s father has been admitted to hospital, after he was fainted while watching 2nd ODI between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at R Premadasa stadium on Sunday.
The incident happened during the second innings of the match at players area. At that time Avishka was batting on 77. Soon after, Avishka was dismissed for 82, laden with 9 fours and 2 sixes.
Casing a target of 239, Sri Lanka opener Dimuth Karunaratne and Avishka Fernando gave yet another solid start to the team, as both they added 77 runs for the first wicket.
Dimuth was slow and cautious as usually, but Avishka took Bangladesh bowlers for a ride from the beginning, with glorious shots on both sides of the wicket.
During his stroke filled innings, 22 year old Avishka Fernando reminded once again that Sri Lanka have unearthed a future star of World Cricket!
