BCCI CEO Rahul Johri to meet Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma amid rift rumours

Written by Vishwas Gupta

The reports of a possible rift between two Indian cricket team superstars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been doing the rounds since the Men in Blue’s exit from the ICC World Cup 2019. India, who were one of the favourites to win the World Cup, bowed out of the competition after an 18-run defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the first semi-final. However, the selection panel rubbished the rumours of split captaincy to repose confidence in Kohli and have retained him as the skipper across all formats for the upcoming tour of West Indies.

Ahead of India’s next international assignment, the BCCI is reportedly trying to resolve the issues between Kohli and Rohit as the board is concerned over the differences between the duo. BCCI CEO Rahul Johri is likely to fly to the US where he will meet Kohli and Rohit to hold talks with the duo in a bid to ease off the growing tension between the two. Head coach Ravi Shastri is also expected to be a part of the discussion.

“In today’s age when support groups get involved, things can get messy. Both are mature individuals and things should be back on track after being spoken with,” a BCCI source
