A delegation of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) Tuesday departed for Pakistan for the security assessment before national team’s proposed tour in October, Cricket Age learns.

As Pakistan are still struggling to bring international cricket back in the country after 2008 bus attack, SLC have decided to extend a helping hand to One of the subcontinent powerhouse in cricket.

The SLC delegation includes secratary Mohan De Silva, head of international cricket Chandima Mapatuna, retired Air Chief Marshall Roshan Gunathilika and security manager Palihta Seneviratne.

“Sri Lanka always shares close cricket ties with Pakistan. In our time of need, the PCB always extended unconditional support. Now, it’s our turn to help them to bring international cricket back in Pakistan. That’s why Mr. Mohan De Silva led delegation has departed for Pakistan for security assessment” a senior SLC administrator told Cricket Age.

Sri Lanka are scheduled to play 2 tests 3 ODIs and as many as T20Is against Pakistan in October. And, SLC are on the opinion to play at least T20I series in Pakistan, if the delegation approves the security arrangements.
